Description: Relatively flat island with semi-desert vegetation and bone-white salt pans. Some beautiful beaches. but, hotels are numerous along the coast thanks to a thriving diving industry. Underwater visibility is 100 feet and there is a protected marine park which extends from the high water mark down to 200 feet and surrounds the entire island. Once a notorious penal colony, the island has several architecturally interesting "slave huts" on desolate terrain.
